Anjana Data presents version 4.0.

Anjana Data presents the new version of its Data Governance solution based on value-added features, which provides the necessary tools to empower data stakeholders in an organisation, enabling the implementation of proactive and preventive data governance. With the launch of version 4.0, which includes significant new features and improvements to the solution, the company aims to take a qualitative leap forward in its efforts to position Anjana Data as a real alternative to the leading solutions on the market, while continuing to strengthen its unique approach and offering for the most innovative environments (Big Data and Cloud-native technologies, hybrid architectures, self-service and marketplace environments, advanced analytics ecosystems, data governance for DataOps, etc.).

Among the new capabilities offered by version 4.0, Anjana Data presents a new, much more comprehensive and flexible internal metamodel, a unified user experience and interface for the entire application, a new graph-based 3D graphics library for an extended view of data lineage, and native integration with new technologies and data platforms.

Furthermore, with this latest milestone, Anjana Data becomes the first and only data governance solution on the market to offer extended native integration with the leading technologies of the largest cloud providers (Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud Platform).

Enhancements and new capabilities in Anjana Data 4.0

One of the most significant new features in this new version is the new CORE Metamodel, which integrates both the internal metamodel of the Business Glossary and the Data Catalogue, giving the organisation complete flexibility to create new types of data assets with their own metadata attributes thanks to the configuration of templates with dynamic forms.

In this context, from a new graphical administration and configuration interface, the teams responsible for data governance in the organisation can create as many types of entities as they wish (business concepts, metrics, reports, business processes, data quality rules, KPIs, policies, etc.), each with its own metadata attributes, as well as being able to fully customise all the main assets of the Data Catalogue (datasets, fields, processes, instances, DSAs and solutions).

Furthermore, thanks to the use of configurable typed relationships, this new version offers the possibility of establishing different types of relationships between data assets at any level, making it possible to relate, for example, metrics with datasets, quality rules with technical processes, reports with DSAs, etc., in a much easier and more intuitive way.

Additionally, the entire data map of the organisation can be viewed in its entirety using the new graph-oriented 3D graphics library, which also incorporates advanced features such as filtering, aggregation, search and node location to facilitate navigation throughout the data ecosystem, discover relationships and information consumption, analyse the lineage and traceability of data, and anticipate possible impacts visually.

On the other hand, the user experience for both the Business Glossary and the Data Catalogue is another feature that has been enhanced in this new version. The application has evolved towards a much more intuitive interface design, with new «action» buttons and links to improve navigation between objects, views and modules. In this way, Anjana Data 4.0 provides smooth navigation between different related data assets, offering a complete and simplified journey between the functional and technical worlds.

In terms of user experience, another notable improvement in this new version is the experience surrounding the Portal and Marketplace, as its entire UX & UI has been redesigned to reduce the steps required to search for, find, and request access to available data assets.

In this regard, Anjana Data 4.0 offers the possibility of including not only Datasets and DSAs in the Shopping Cart, but also business terms and other conceptual data assets, bringing data much closer to the business through the operationalisation of Data Sharing Agreements. In this way, the application automatically calculates the different DSAs available so that a user can request access to the data assets included in the Shopping Cart by signing the necessary data contracts so that the entire access and permission management process can be automated and governed from start to finish.

This comprehensive automation is only possible thanks to the extended native integration offered by Anjana Data across different data platforms, with a focus on Big Data and cloud-native technologies. In this new version, Anjana Data becomes the first and only data governance solution that natively incorporates extended integration across the leading technologies of the largest cloud providers (Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud Platform). As in all previous versions, these integrations include:

  • Metadata discovery and import
  • Sampling and data sampling
  • Active management of data access permissions through integration with identity management systems and access policies
  • Active management of data structures to create, edit, and delete different data structures such as tables, views, paths, files, topics, etc.
  • Obtaining dynamic lineage through the interpretation of audit logs.

Last but not least, another development highlighted by the Anjana Data development team is the improvements to the back-end and architecture, which allow the solution to continue its rapid pace of feature evolution while offering state-of-the-art scalability, security, and interoperability features for its customers.
